OK, there are sooooo many things wrong with both of those. As far as creepy I will have to go with Band #1. I did not know that in singing a song you actually just choose to "talk" it, I guess I coule sing if thats the case. Then there was the creepy lady in the glasses behind the piano. I thought that there was no way that #2 would be as bad, just no way..... until the white guy started breakdancing. At least they were actually singing (i guess thats what you call it) I dont think the "dance"moves had anything to do with the song, nor did the "rapping" in the middle. All I can say is THANK GOD for contemporary worship music. I wonder what your congregation would do if you busted out breakdancing! Too funny, thanks for sharing.
I give creepiness to band 2. the first band looks like it was 25 years ago and therefore their "creepiness" is actually funny. But band 2 looks like it was people doing something yesterday trying to be cool and hip an it's just so sad....so very very sad.
Ok, so first I must say thank you for the laugh. It was awesome. Second, I must say that I thought band #1 was bad until I saw #2. Both were equally creepy, but I am with Kim, I think you should try putting choreography to your worship sets and see what happens. OMG, it's no wonder so many of our parents generation left the church and have never gone back.
http://gardenofpraise.com/bibsong40.htm Ok, so I was searching for some Beatitude stuff for our 3rd graders. I saw a link that said Beatitude song, I thought oh this is great, we could teach them a song to help them remember. Anyway, enough said, becasue of your recent posting, I had to share.
Band #2 wins - hands down. The whole break dancing and choreography is just creepy! Band #1 just looks like something done in the deep south Bible belt back in the 70's. Maybe even Hee-Haw's version of gospel music. Very Funny!!
Just thought you would find this humorous. . .Carson's favorite song to sing ALL THE TIME is "I'm a friend of Jesus, He's a friend of mine." Thanks for keeping those lyrics in my brain throughout the day. It's like Veggie Tales all over again! Fruit salad, yummy yummy.
Jaded is a word I sometimes use for something I've done, written, thought, etc... it's been JD'd... or jaded. I even have a publishing company with very few songs that have made even less money called Jaded Songs. Celeste once suggested we name our child Jade if it was a girl, which I thought was perfect should we aspire to raise a stripper. Jade is slang for prostitute and was used as such in literature through the 19th century. It did rise again in popularity a few years ago though, and now I like it - so what do I know. But we had a boy - so moot point. Jade is also a gemstone - typically some shade of green. Green is my favorite color according to aforementioned boy and I think he's right - I do like green.
Nevertheless - this is where I'll share my thoughts. Not because you care or should - but because something must quieten the voices and lull me to sleep at night. This seems the ideal venue and safer than drugs. We'll see.

JD,
I'm going to have to go with #2 here. Never mind the content of the clips (which is awesome) but the very brand "God Tube" deserves an award.
